Author: when you rent a jet, where do you take it? what is your favorite place to travel to on your private jet? do you like warm and sunny places with clear blue waters? when you rent a jet do you like cold wintery places that you can snow board or ski down a mountain? There is so many choices to choose from when you rent a jet.
but i don’t know how to fly a jet you say. this blog will give help on finding a flight school and it might even be accelerated learning.
Is getting a plane repaired basically the same as getting a car repaired? I mean the mechanics just guess until they get it right apparently. My husband and I flew down south a few days ago and about 2 1/2 hours into our 4 hour flight we lost all electrical. Even our transponder so the towers had no clue where we were. We just dropped down to where our cell phones would work and called them alerting them that we’d be landing at a med sized airport. We landed fine but had to drive to our destination while they worked on the problem. They changed out the battery but our battery was only just over a year old. Anyway, I’m a very fearful flyer. I did not want to fly home at night because i didnt believe the problem was for sure fixed since the battery was fairly new. Sure enough, we get in the sky and all the lights start flickering. We had to stop for gas anyway so when we landed I refused to get back in the plane. My husband wasn’t too concerned and figured he’d get it looked at at home. So I drove a rental and he flew it home : )
I’m mad at the airport repair guy. We totally got raped with the price because he knew we were over a barrel! Now I’m not getting in a freaking plane for a while, at least not our little one.
So, Ive lost trust and think these guys just guess? Ughhh
Having had a similar issue once I can identify but things do happen. Sometimes mechanics do get it wrong and a second trip is needed. If the battery was totally depleted then it may well have been bad leading the mechanic to think that was the problem when it wasn’t the ONLY problem.
In my case even the second battery was killed, once replaced further testing found a short which only happened in flight. That is the reason they put voltage and amp meters in the panel. I upgraded to digital after my issue. Warning lights that flicker off and on draw attention where a bouncing needle might be missed.
Don’t get me wrong but A&Ps are just people too. Pilots who pay close attention and know there own systems are an A&PS best tool, the more info they can feed to the mechanic the easier trouble is to locate. Flying in the dark without radio isn’t fun even in good VFR. A handheld radio can and should be in the ol flightbag.
Anyone have info regarding flight clubs or schools that rent aircraft at Westchester airport. KHPN
Looking for a personal recommendation. A flight school type operation. Renting out single engine piston aircraft. Agreed that airnav is the source for airport info.

A demonstration on how a W.W. II Carbon Arc Searchlight tracked aircraft by remote control as shown by R. Lee Ermey in his History Channel show
“MAIL CALL”.
The demonstration takes place at the annual re-enactment of the Great LA Air Raid of 1942 at the Fort MacArthur Museum in San Pedro California in February 2006.
This is a restored General Electric Carbon Arc Anti-aircraft Searchlight from W.W. II that was restored in April of 2003. These Searchlights were used to spot enemy aircraft before the invention of Radar. During the war, Radar was perfected and Searchlights were no longer needed. Many of them were scrapped, and many became advertising lights. Searchlights were used by all countries that were involved in W.W. II. This unit was considered Top Secret and High Tech at the time. This is a demonstration of how the control station was used with the searchlight to track aircraft.

Rent a Cirrus SR22 on Maui(about) how much would it cost to earn a private pilots licence if I have an aircraft w/ fuel free-of-charge already provided. Basically excluding aircraft rental charges? Thank you.
Wrong, you need 40 hours minimum for a private pilot certificate….but most people get like 65-80 (because your teacher won’t pass you until you are ready)
On the website where I might go, it says it will prob cost around 6,500 for a 2 seater plane and 7,500 for a 4 seater plane
Wet means including fuel costs.
