Finance documents show that the Republican National Committee spent nearly $2,000 last month at "a bondage-themed nightclub featuring topless women dancers imitating lesbian sex."
That is one of the many incredible expenditures reported by The Daily Caller, a conservative Web site. The Daily Caller’s piece outlines the high-spending ways of RNC Chairman Michael Steele. Steele, the former lieutenant governor of Maryland, has spent much of his first year as RNC chief fending off controversy — and the latest Federal Elections Commission filings on the group’s expenditures are sure to send him back into damage-control mode. According to The Daily Caller, two sources say he floated the possibility of the RNC buying him a private jet. He also spent tens of thousands of dollars at luxury hotels in Washington, Hawaii, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles, and the RNC spent $17,000 on chartered flights and $12,000 on limousines in February alone, according to the FEC reports.

Haha- can’t spend any money on health care because it takes away from the strip club budget???
Texas- really? I think you are comparing apples to oranges, mon ami.
I’ve never even heard of the Daily Caller…but if they said it, it must be true!! lmfao!
Taxpayers are paying for health care, btw…not the RNC or DNC.
does travel in a charter take longer than in a traditional jet?
does the jet stay put when you are at your destination? and if so, do you pay for the lodging/time to the pilot?
does the pilot have a co pilot?
are animals allowed on board?
what would be the best suggested charter company to go through?
we will be wanting to take two trips. One from arizona to the bahamas and one from arizona to ireland.our family has had a bad experience with flying on the reg. jet so we prefer to go private (someone died on the flight and two of my family members had panic attacks over it, my other cousin has social anxiety disorder so when she is around a whole bunch of people she just gets nervous) so it would just be more comfortable for all and much more pleasant to take our pvt jet.
Also, do you tip your pilots? and if so, how much?
The aircraft speeds vary depending on how much you are willing to spend. Three are some very fast private jets, and some more modest ones. In general, they fly at a speed similar to that of a commercial airliner. The cruising altitude is usually higher, nearly all citations for example fly around 40,000′ as opposed to 35,000 of most commercial airliners. That means a smoother ride.
What the airplane does depends on a number of things. If you charter, you pay based on what you are able to negotiate. Typically, if you are somewhere for one day or two, you’ll pay for the crews expenses plus about 2 flight hours a day. You can also pay to send the airplane back to its base and come pick you up when you are ready to come home. That is very expensive, but may be cheaper than paying to keep it where ever you stay. Some larger companies like Citation Air and NetJets have plans that allow you to just pay for what you use. It sounds good, but they over charge to start with, so the final quote price is what matters.
Most chartered jets require a crew of two. Some turboprops will give you the option of only having one pilot, but you can always request a second pilot at an additional cost.
Animals are up to the owner of the aircraft. Most all chartered aircraft are not owned by the chartering company, but by private owners who lease the aircraft to the companies. Some do allow animals, some do not.
For finding a charter company, It is best to look at CharterX.com That is a good way to find out who operates in your area, a local opperator is always going to be the most cost effective. DO NOT go through a broker. They are nothing more than middle men and while they claim they will take care of every detail for you, so will nearly every charter company, and they won’t charge you for their time. I just saw a trip my company booked through a broker, the broker made a $3,500 comission on a $12,000 trip. The customer could have called us and gotten the same rate minus the broker fee and had the same or better service.
Tipping the pilots is not necessary, although if they are helpful throw them a 20 each and write a letter to the company they work for.

CoGoJets has created a new online, member-based, social networking website for business and leisure air travelers to coordinate their itineraries and experience the advantages of a private jet, one seat at a time.
CoGoJets members can negotiate their desired flight date, time and seats with other members at www.CoGoJets.com. Once mutually agreeable flight terms are met, members collectively book a private jet together and split the expense based upon their pro rata share for the seats they occupy. By doing so, members are able to share flights, fill empty seats and save up to 5090 percent off the retail cost of private jet travel. CoGoJets members can start connecting and booking flights through www.CoGoJets.com effective December 2, 2008.
In addition to providing a tool to cut private jet travel costs, CoGoJets also offers its members a way to offset their flights carbon footprint. Members can voluntarily donate to the CoGoEco Program, on an individual flight basis, through a Flight Carbon Calculator built into the website. All proceeds go to Sustainable Travel International™, a nonprofit organization committed to reducing the global environmental impact of travel and tourism.
“Even clients who can easily afford to fly private have been asking for a shared flight program. And after seeing halfempty aircraft fly all over the U.S. every day, I saw an opportunity to provide a more fiscally minded and environmentally responsible means of private jet travel,” said Jamie Walker, CoGoJets founder and CEO. “All people need is a place to meet and coordinate before booking a jet. CoGoJets provides the place and the online tools to align peoples travel schedules.”
CoGoJets is offering founding memberships for $500, an 80% discount off the annual membership fee of $2,500. Members have access to CoGoJets nationwide database of members available to share Light Jet, Midsize Jet and Heavy Jet flights.
“CoGoJets combines the social networking aspects of a Facebook® and the negotiating characteristics of an eBay® to connect a whole new private jet set,” Walker said.

the reasons are quite a few:
1. In the wake of terrorist attacks, security is unquestionable. In a private air charter, you know exactly who the pilot is, what type of baggage is on board and who the fellow passengers; if any, on the flight are. This provides the much needed peace of mind.
2. Time is money for business travelers. Private charters have become even more popular among top corporate executives whose time is too valuable to waste in long queues. There is no question of delayed or cancelled flights; as the private flight is scheduled only at the time you want. In fact some organizations don’t mind spending an extra bit on arranging private jets for their senior staff too apart from their top executives.
3. Private flights enable the optimum utilization of time and ensure confidentiality. You can work on your laptops, conduct meetings; just about everything in the sky that you can do on the ground in your office. Fax, e-mail, phones, computers; everything is easily accessible.
