A giant Antonov AN 124 charter aircraft recently landed at Hartsfield-Jackson to transport special cargo to the Middle East. Ingelett & Stubbs International hired the cargo airlifter, through freight forwarding company National Air Cargo, to transport 186,000 pounds of equipment to a United States airbase in Balad, Iraq. The shipment will be used for overhead distribution to rebuild Iraqs electrical power infrastructure.
Air cargo shippers commonly use the AN 124 to transport oversized freight throughout the world. In addition to transporting massive equipment, the AN 124 can also carry six MiG 21 fighter jets, a 25-meter yacht, helicopters and combat tanks.

This airport is busy with charter flights during summer time. We came from Dortmund via London Gatwick direct to Kalamata. Since there are no charter flights from Germany to Kalamata, we preferred this way.

This video is focused on how to make a rectangular pattern with just enough information about the aircraft and techniques to accomplish that goal. We deliberately present an imperfect flight to show how best to recover from beginners mistakes and get the most out of pattern work. A good pattern will result in more time to get used to an unfamiliar aircraft. That is why touch-and-go’s, or closed traffic, is done.
The presenter is not a flying instructor, however he is a licensed pilot. As such this should not be used as a substitute for real world flight instruction.
