24 hours after TIMES NOW’s investigative report on the dubious flying school in Baramati, Maharashtra, was aired – the dark nexus between Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) officials and the flying school stood exposed. Thanks to backing from top Maharashtra politicians and corrupt officials of the DGCA, the flying school still operates despite losing its licence once despite flouting rules. Today TIMES NOW tracked down one of the DGCA officers named by the Carver Flying Academy – the officer who allegedly helped ineligible trainee pilots clear their exams. The lack of action by DGCA and the Govt has raised concerns, as this scam gains dangerous proportions, considering under qualified pilots are even today, flying unsuspecting passengers. The sinister nexus has been exposed but the key players remain tight-lipped as the expose is just the tip of the iceberg. With the nexus still thriving – it might take a while – before it is broken.
